I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
A health coach is a wellness guide and supportive mentor. Together, we´ll work to achieve your goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, food cravings, sleep, and energy. Through working with me, you´ll develop a deeper understanding of the foods and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance, and health.
My strategies are deliberately different from traditional approaches. Just as no two people are the same, no one diet works for everyone. While most dieticians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, and lists of good and bad foods, my approach is free of deprivation, unrealistic expectations, and dieting.
I offer you a roadmap through the often confusing and contradictory information in the media. Through genuine guidance and support, I help you to become directed by your inner knowing, facilitating incremental healthy changes that yield the long-term benefits of balance, wellness, and a richness and enjoyment of life. It is your healing journey and it is my privilege to work alongside you to assist you in reaching your goals.
There are four easy steps of my process:
Step 1: Analysis
?Before you commit yourself to a health coaching program, I invite you to have a complimentary one hour session with me. During this hour, we spend time talking about you, your health history and the specific challenges you face in regard to your health. Most people have a strong sense of where they would like to begin and I am there to facilitate goal-setting, rather than decide a starting point for you. This session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other so you can decide if I am the perfect health coach for you.
Step 2: Strategy
My strategies are deliberately different from the usual nutritionist approach. I could give you a list of 25 recommendations in your first session and you might leave filled with the enthusiasm that often accompanies the desire for change. But it is impossible to change 25 things in your life at once and I would be setting you up for failure with that approach. Unlike a diet that is based on willpower, discipline and a tendency for failure, a small reachable goal builds self-esteem and empowers you to know that you can change your health habits for a lifetime.
Step 3: Work
No two health coaching programs are the same, just as no two people are the same. You, and the health goals you set for yourself will drive your program. It is my job to give you all the tools and support that you need to experience life as a healthier you. You leave each coaching session with three realistic goals that you can work on in a two-week period.
Step 4: Results
?When you return to your next health coaching session, you have started to build a new foundation of health by implementing your three goals into new habits. When we meet every two weeks, we will continue to add goals and the ones you started with will just become part of the way you live now. Whether your goals revolve around losing weight, exercising more, cooking more or living a simpler life, new habits take practice. A gradual approach to change is a lasting approach.
